Located 105km east of Adelaide at the junction of the River Murray and lake Alexandrina, Wellington is the gateway to one of Australia's largest fresh water lakes and the Fleurieu Peninsula. Wellington is only 1hr  from Adelaide with scenic drives through Langhorne Creek, one of Australia's finest wine regions or via  the freeway to Tailem bend Home of the Bend motorsport park a 10 minute drive  then on the ferry at either jervois or wellington.

The Wellington Hotel was licensed in 1848 and is one of the oldest working hotels in South Australia. The hotel is located directly on the banks of the River Murray with a licensed lawn area, front bar, dining room and new decking area. All with panoramic views overlooking the river. Directly in front of the hotel is also South Australia's oldest and widest river crossings with a ferry which operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
